True North Emergency is pleased to announce that Columbia River Fire and Rescue has taken delivery of two new Crestline CCL 150 Ambulances, both now in service. The department runs a 35-mile route to Portland when transporting patients, so mileage adds up, making annual replacements necessary.
The department chose Crestline for its quality and ease of upfitting. The CCL 150’s access panels throughout the module make it easy to work with, removing the guesswork that often slows down the outfitting of a new unit.
Columbia River Fire and Rescue is a long-time ambulance customer and purchased the trucks through Sourcewell, a cooperative purchasing program. The department needed a quick turnaround, and because True North had both units in stock they were able to get the apparatus they needed without long lead times.
The crews have been very happy with both trucks. They arrived ahead of schedule and have performed flawlessly since going into service.
Long-distance patient transports to Portland mean Columbia River Fire & Rescue’s ambulances spend a lot of time on the road. To maintain a dependable fleet, the department follows a one ambulance per year replacement program.
Crestline’s customer service left Logistics Director Jeramy Lehner impressed. He called after hours and was surprised to connect with someone who immediately provided him with wiring schematics, which he called “the best schematics I’ve seen in a long time.”

With approximately 200 square miles of Columbia County across seven fire stations, Columbia River Fire & Rescue is the largest district in the county and provides fire, rescue, and life-saving medical transport services to its community.
